The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:

The Protestant Traditional Musician will provide keyboard/piano and/or guitar accompaniment for a blended worship service that may include traditional, contemporary, or gospel music styles, which will be determined by the Protestant Chaplain. Time of services will be coordinated based on the Protestant religious service schedule.

1.28.1. Qualifications

1.28.1.1. A minimum of two-years of experience playing keyboard/piano and/or guitar accompaniment for a Chapel or church setting.

1.28.1.2. Experience accompanying/leading vocalists and/or congregation in Chapel setting utilizing wide range of traditional, contemporary, and gospel Christian music for all Protestant music groups and events as well as assisting with ecumenical events.

1.28.1.3. Shall be proficient on piano, keyboard and/or guitar and vocal ability by an audition with the Chapel staff.

1.28.1.4. Experience utilizing innovative approaches to effectively play music in a way that enhances the spiritual value of Protestant worship services and encourages congregational members to participate in musical worship.

1.28.2. Duties and Responsibilities

1.28.2.1. Serve as accompanist for Protestant worship services under the assigned service Protestant Chaplain.

1.28.2.2. Participate in weekly rehearsals for vocalists to last no less than 30 minutes, not including the time required to set-up and tear down.

1.28.2.3. Assist the Protestant Chaplain in planning and coordinating music for worship services in consultation with the assigned service Chaplain.

1.28.2.4. Be present at least ten (10) minutes before rehearsals and fifteen (15) minutes before worship services. Ensure all audio/visual equipment is setup and tested prior to each service/rehearsal.

1.28.2.5. Ensure the worship team area is left clean after use by putting audio/visual equipment away properly and restoring area to original configuration.

1.28.3. Special Services: Contractor is responsible to play music for the below special services, to include both rehearsal and performance (outside of the weekly worship services) including:

Easter Sunrise, Good Friday Services 4 units

Christmas Eve 2 units

Weddings/funerals not to exceed 6 funerals/weddings/memorials per year
