The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:

1. Contract Position Title: Contemporary Worship Service Music Worship Leader and Praise Team

2.1 Minimum Standards of Education, Qualification, Experience:  Worship leader shall:

2.2. Have two (2) years of experience directing, coordinating, leading, and performing modern
contemporary style of worship and music for a Protestant church/chapel in the last two (2)
years.
2.3. Be an active member/attendee at a Protestant church/chapel.
2.4. Have an understanding of music theory and able to transpose music to different keys.
2.5. Possess the ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
2.6. Possess the ability to effectively accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
2.7. Familiarity with and ability to use the following computer programs:
2.7.1. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Pro-Presenter (our worship display program and
experience with it is preferred).
2.8. Possess ability to deliver a complete worship/praise set to the Contemporary Worship Service
(CWS), based on the needs of the service pastor, to include at a minimum two singers, (singers
may also be musicians/contractor), one guitar player, one drummer, and one piano/keyboard
player, all musically proficient.
2.9. Must be familiar and competent with online streaming procedures. 

3. Program Requirements and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

3.1. The contractor shall comply with Air Force Instructions (AFI) and local Operating
Instructions (OI) that apply to this position.
3.1.1. Chaplain Corps AFIs are located at http://www.e-publishing.af.mil/. Under the
Product Index click on “Departmental” and then “52-Chaplain.”
3.1.2. Local chapel OIs will be provided to contractor upon initial award of contract,
whenever OIs are updated, and upon request by the contractor.
3.2. Recruit and lead a complete volunteer worship/praise team set package, usually four songs,
for performance in the Contemporary Worship style. The worship package must include at
a minimum, two singers, one guitar player, one piano/keyboard player, and one drummer,
who perform with proficiency in support of the contemporary style of worship.
3.3. At the direction of the worship service chaplain provide some or all of the following
(coordinated weekly with the service chaplain): prelude music 15 minutes prior to the
worship service (can be a playlist of songs from a music player i.e., Spotify, Pandora
Apple Music), special music song during offertory and/or communion and music during
the altar call and closing of the worship service.
3.4. Be familiar with, and able to read and select for performance a variety of modern
contemporary and hymnal-based worship styles.
3.5. Able to provide instrumental and accompaniment music in worship services as
needed.
3.6. Develop a music order for each worship service.
3.6.1. Coordinate the worship service order with the CWS Chaplain, worship
band/praise team members, and audio/visual technicians.
3.6.1.1. No later than two weeks prior to the service, provide to the CWS Chaplain a “set” list for approval.
3.6.2. Implement the music order as developed, coordinated, and approved.
3.7. Provide multi-media worship slides in Pro-Presenter format for congregational use in
the format required no later than seven days prior to the service.
3.8. Submit fund requests as required in accordance with local procedures for purchase of
resources/materials needed to perform duties.
3.8.1. All necessary purchases of materials must be pre-approved by the chaplain in
charge.
3.8.2. These items will be paid for by the Keesler Chapel. 

4. Pluralistic Environment: The environment in which this contract is implemented is a religiously pluralistic and sensitive arena of numerous faith group and denominational traditions. The Worship leader accomplishes the terms of the contract in compliance with the mission requirements and standards set forth and defined by the Department of the Air Force and the Air Force Chaplain Corps. Activities and behavior to the contrary are viewed as grounds for contract termination.

5. Background Checks:

5.1. A criminal history background check shall be initiated and completed for all Worship leaders, Worship leader substitutes and program volunteers working with children under 18 years of age.

5.2. If awarded the contract, the Worship leader shall immediately submit a background check application to the Contract Monitor.

6. Dates, Times, and Performance Location(s).

6.1. All worship services, special programs, and associated rehearsals will be conducted on Keesler AFB unless otherwise approved by the Wing Chaplain or designee.

6.2. The CWS Music Worship leader shall perform one worship service per week, Sunday at 0830 hours, and up to 8 special services or events throughout the year for a total of 60. There will also be one on-site rehearsal and 8 special rehearsals TBD for a total of 60 rehearsals yearly.

6.2.1. The additional 8 special services and rehearsals will be authorized by the Senior Faith Group Chaplain or designee.

6.3. The CWS Music Worship leader shall remain present during the entire worship service including setup, sound check and tear down post worship service.

6.3.1. The CWS Worship leader shall ensure all necessary personnel and logistics will arrive NLT 45 minutes prior to the start of worship services.
