Protestant Contemporary Musician

The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:

Protestant Contemporary Musician Lead Guitarist or Drummer and Vocalist, Community Chapel
1 The Protestant Musician shall provide high quality guitar and/or drums accompaniment for contemporary style worship. Time of services will be coordinated based on the Protestant religious service schedule (currently 1045) which is subject to change. The Protestant Musician will provide a high-quality Protestant Contemporary or Gospel
Worship Accompaniment. The Protestant Musician will support a mid-week worship opportunity (currently Wednesday evenings – but subject to change) for Preparatory School Students and Dorm Airmen during the Preparatory School calendar year. The Protestant Musician will provide all deliverables as described in 3.11 as confirmed by the assigned Protestant chaplain.
2 Qualifications. The Protestant Musician shall:
2.1 Have experience playing guitar as lead or accompaniment and/or drums accompaniment for a worship team in a chapel or church setting.
2.2 Enhance the spiritual value of Protestant worship services and encourage congregational members to participate in musical worship through the performance of high-quality contemporary music.
2.3 Shall be proficient playing guitar and/or drums and be able to read music. Vocal ability is a plus.
3 Duties and Responsibilities. The Protestant Musician shall:
3.1 Serve as accompanist for all regular Protestant Worship Services and special services in coordination with the Protestant Music Director under the direction of the lead faith group chaplain.
3.2 Be able to lead worship in the absence of the Music Director.
3.3 Participate in weekly rehearsals for the praise team as scheduled by the worship director.
3.4 Be present at least 15 minutes before rehearsals and 30 minutes before worship services.
3.5 In absence of director, submit accurate choir attendance records and hours to the Protestant service Parish Coordinator or chaplain on a weekly basis.
3.6 Ensure instrument(s) used are safely and properly stored.
4 Special Services.
4.1 The musician shall provide music for all weekly Sunday Worship and special services, to include both rehearsal and performance, including but not limited to the following:
 Prep School Early Morning Worships in July
 Prep School Baccalaureate in May
 Easter Sunrise, Maundy Thursday (as needed), and Good Friday Services
 Christmas Programs (Christmas Eve/Christmas Tree lighting)
