The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:

1. The musician shall provide all necessary personnel, supervision, management, tools, equipment, transportation, materials and any other items or services necessary to perform the Musician Protestant Gospel Pianist/Keyboardist services at SHA Chapel, Sagamihara

Housing Area (SHA), Japan in accordance with this Performance Work Statement (PWS), the attached appendices and with commercial and local standards.

1.1. The musician shall provide a Musician Protestant Gospel Pianist/Keyboardist to assist the Gospel congregation in worship at SHA Chapel, SHA, Japan. The Musician Protestant Gospel Pianist/Keyboardist shall play the piano/keyboardist to provide instrumental music for the following services in accordance with the estimated schedule as specified in Appendix A.

(a) Music worship

(b) Rehearsal for music worship

(c) Providing musical accompaniment for special worship services (i.e. Christmas, Easter, etc.).

1.2. The Musician Protestant Gospel Pianist/Keyboardist shall support the Chaplaincy’s religious support mission by providing professional, technical assistance to bring worship services to the soldiers and their families. The Musician Protestant Gospel Pianist/Keyboardist shall also:

(a) Coordinate all musical selections with the Chaplain Pastor of the congregation or his/her designated representative to select music in keeping with the theme of the worship service.

(b) Accompany choir/solo music presentations that enhance the atmosphere of worship for the particular congregation.

(c) Coordinate with worship leader and other musicians to enhance the congregation’s ability to participate in worship.

1.3. The Government will provide a piano/keyboard to the musician at the work site strictly for the performance of this contract.

1.4. The Musician Protestant Gospel Pianist/Keyboardist falls under the USAG-J Chaplain’s program as defined in the Command Master Religious Program (CMRP). The mission of the Chaplain’s program is to provide essential elements of the religious service to include worship service for all assigned soldiers, civilians, and family members.

2.1.1. Qualification Requirement. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Pianist/Keyboardist is necessary. Sufficient communication skills in English to perform the tasks and activities described at paragraph 1.2. are required.

2.1.1.1. The Musician Protestant Gospel Pianist/Keyboardist shall have an experience in Gospel music and playing the piano/keyboard for Gospel music and choir support.
