The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:



1.1.1. Scope of Work: The Musicians shall serve as the primary musician for the 2 Catholic worship services weekly.

The Musician shall provide piano or organ accompaniment during the worship services, provide the call to worship, choral responses, and benediction response as per the worship requirements and expectation of the chaplain assigned to lead the worship service. The Musician shall organize volunteers to assist the programs, not limited to choir, musicians, etc. As a volunteer supervisor, musician will report volunteers’ service hours IAW AFI52-101, para 6.3.4.

1.1.2. Location: Primary facilities for the services provided will be, not limited to, the chapel Bldg 345 and the East Chapel Bldg 4314.

1.1.3. Workmanship: All work shall be accomplished within the guidelines of the Roman Catholic Church, Air

Force Instructions, and the Wing Chaplain’s Policy Statements.

1.1.4. Work to be Accomplished: Coordinate all music support requirements for the Catholic programs with the Catholic chaplain or designated representative. The Catholic chaplain or a designated representative will provide the musician with the necessary information relative for the various chapel services and activities. Coordinate with the Catholic Chaplain for special services. Musician shall be given a 30-day notice before performing for special services. Be in place with appropriate instrument(s) and ready to begin on time with appropriate prelude, hymns, anthem(s), choral responses, and postlude for the worship service. Setup and take down all necessary items for rehearsals and worship services. Ensure the areas used will be properly secured upon completion of rehearsals and worship services. All work areas must maintain a neat and orderly appearance. Properly mark and utilize all music and videos that are copyright protected with the Chapel's Christian Copyright

License International (CCLI) number to be located on all sides of documents, presentations or media. Competency of Musician: Possess a Bachelor of Arts in music or 2 years of experience and 3 years of playing in religious worship services. Proficiently play both the piano and organ. Demonstrate both competence and capability to perform required services for which they are engaged and the ability to skillfully sight read and play music with little or no advanced preparation. This includes all worship services, memorial services, funerals, choir rehearsals and special programs. Musician must be able to provide a wide range of church music to include traditional, liturgical, and contemporary, all of which will be tailored to meet the worship and liturgical needs of the particular service wherein assigned. Musician must possess a working knowledge of the liturgical calendar to be able to anticipate musical needs for presentations during the special seasons of the year. Be willing to work in an interfaith environment. Musician must communicate fully in English. In accordance with DODI a Criminal History Background Check and/or Local Files Check must be accomplished for all individuals working with children. Consent to the background check is mandatory.

The Musician shall be fully qualified to perform the required services without any supervision or direction by Government personnel.

1.1.5. Musician Points of Contact: The Musician shall provide the Contracting Officer and the Catholic Chaplain with any changes to their current address, telephone numbers, and email address. He/she will also provide the names of a primary and alternate point of contact with telephone numbers, in case of emergency.

1.1.6. Performance: The Musician shall arrive at the chapel a minimum of 15 minutes before the start of the worship service. Rehearsal shall be one week in advance of a scheduled performance. Rehearsals will last at least one (1) hour, but no more than two (2) hours. Performances will last least one (1) hour, but no more than two (2) hours.

Rehearsals will not exceed 104 units per year. Performances shall include a minimum 10-minute warm-up session before each service. Performances are scheduled on twice on Sundays. Performances will not exceed 104 units per year. Other special performances, such as holy days, may be required during weekdays. Special rehearsals and performances will not to exceed 32 units per year.
